So, while I have a will, there’s a lot of shit in there that doesn’t talk about the nuts-and-bolts of what I want to have happen to my world should I die. My will covers the financial side of things, but, please take these instructions as my general wishes of what I want to have happen to things in my world. I last updated this in 2025-Apr-09.

Will

The financial stuff, property, and all of that legal shit should be handled by my will. Please respect the decisions that I’ve put in my will.

Digital Stuff

• If possible, please post a short post on my behalf to my @uid0 accounts on twitter (or whatever the hell it’s called these days), on any Mastodon instances that I may have out there, as well as my personal blog (this site).
  • Nick should have access to my password safe; that should get you access to my email accounts (including passkeys), social media accounts, and everything else.
• Securely wipe my laptops and donate them if you can’t use them: offer them to family first, but, should they not want them, find a worthy DV shelter or find an organization that focuses on women’s inclusion in STEM and engineering.
• Obviously, if I’m working somewhere, please return their laptop and other items to them, but, you’re free to take whatever is left.

Websites

I have a LOT of domains. Nick has access to my DNS registrar, and should know what to prioritize and where. My blogs are static webpages hosted on S3 – about $3/month for everything. I’d like to ask that you keep those active for a few years after my passing: maybe someone will enjoy reading my rants or musings, but, the reality is, I’m sure someone, somewhere will wonder what happened to me, and I’d like them to definitively know what’s going on, versus wonder. Nick can dispose of the domains as he sees fit.

Service

I’ve always believed that religions are kind of like assholes – everyone has one, and I really don’t want to see yours. Please keep any service that I have about the good that I’ve done in the communities that I believe in (hive13, DMS, Dragonfly, etc etc etc). If you are financially and technically able, I would prefer cremation instead of a traditional burial. Use a reasonable amount of my funds to organise the process. While I’d prefer to have my headstone at Olive Cemetery, I understand if that’s not a possibility. Feel free to use your best judgement about pictures at my service.

People

All are welcome, except Denise and anyone from my Dad’s side of the family.

Organ Donatino

If my organs are needed by anybody else, please take them. It let me spend many years with Rowan that otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to give me.

Aspen

Aspen has always been by my side and she knows that I love and protect her. Please make sure that she goes to someone who will love her and care for her like I have. Please let her at my service so she can know that I’m gone and not expecting me to come back.

Mom

I’m sure my mom’s going to be going through a lot. Please don’t bother her with trivial stuff.

Everyone else

Look. Life’s crazy. I can only hope that I’ve left a positive impression in your life…but I know that there are a few where I haven’t. Please know that it was never my intention to be that way….I’m just weird and autistic and don’t always know how to cope sometimes.
