Florida's Unemployment Debacle
Since the COVID-19 Pandemic started in early March, there have been about 1.8 million unemployment claims processed (source). Transversely, only about 116,830 claimants have been paid. This means that only about 6.65% of those who have applied for unemployment in Florida have gotten anything.
Further, up until the 20th of April, Florida was not one of the states that you could receive retroactive payments – meaning, you start to receive assistance from the date that they accept the claim, not the date that you were unemployed.…

It's been a while
So, yes, I know. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted something in here.
In the last few months, I’ve managed to find myself a new job, stay relatively safe from COVID-19 (after a weird couple of days), and managed to find myself in a fair amount of stress.
